Description The CEREC Omnicam Intraoral Scanner from Uniguide Dental offers scanning simplicity and increased comfort for the user. It is ideal for nearly any intraoral situation, including single-visit restorations, digital orthodontics, and integrated implantology. The CEREC Omnicam AC empowers you to produce a wide range of computer-assisted dental restorations, including those from a ceramic material with a natural appearance (CEramic REConstruction). The CEREC Omnicam AC / Omnicam AC allows you to send digital acquisitions to a laboratory of your choice for manufacture at your laboratory partner. Benefits of CEREC Omnicam DESIGNED FOR ACCESS CEREC Omnicam perfectly balances all requirements for a chairside CAD/CAM camera with operator convenience while introducing another Sirona first – full color. Other new features and benefits: Records 2D and 3D data, the first intraoral camera to do so Captures half-arch and full-arch impressions with industry-leading speed Anti-shake features automatically eliminate substandard images Provides a uniform field of illumination for increased precision Powder-free scanning The CEREC Omnicam allows you to take a coating-free scan of the natural tooth substance and gingiva. This saves you an extra work step, reduces the learning curve, and makes impression-taking more pleasant and time-saving than ever before. Two intra-oral scanning devices (Apollo DI and Cerec Omnicam, Sirona Dental GmbH, Germany) were used to obtain a digital cast from scanning different preparations on a maxillary typodont. Three operator groups scanned five crown preparations using both powder and powder-free scanning systems. One group consisted of fourth-year dental students, a second group consisted of prosthodontic residents, and the third group consisted of prosthodontic specialists. The precision of spray application and impression expertise was compared between the three groups. Unrivaled handling Ergonomic and efficient scanning CEREC Omnicam sits perfectly into the user’s hand. Thanks to the slimline design and the compact camera tip, scanning the posterior teeth presents no problems. Regardless of whether the patient is sitting upright or reclining, you can scan the upper and lower jaws ergonomically without having to adjust your natural working posture. Make sure your scanner operator can efficiently and smoothly handle the documents going into and coming out of the scanner. Basically, this means positioning a table or shelf in such a way that the operator can smoothly feed the documents with minimal extra movement, and a catch table or bin to stack the scanned prints neatly. “The less an operator has to turn away from the device, the more productive they will be and the less fatigued they will be,” Blanken says. Digital impressions as a continuous video process Taking a digital impression with the CEREC Omnicam is a continuous video process. Simply take the camera out of the holder and guide the CEREC Omnicam closely along with the teeth. Time-consuming preparations for a precise intraoral impression are not necessary. Precise 3D images in natural color The precise 3D model allows you to clearly differentiate between the preparation margin and the gingiva. This enables the exact definition of the preparation margin during the subsequent designing process in the CEREC software. It is impressive to see the 3D model displayed in full color on the monitor. The various surfaces are shown in their natural shades. This direct and realistic feedback helps you navigate your way around the oral cavity and enables you to distinguish between amalgam, gold or composite. Clinically it provides clear differentiation between the gingiva and the preparation margin. Shade Detection The new feature Shade Detection makes it possible to analyze the shade of each tooth based on your scan with the CEREC Omnicam. This gives you objective support and more safety in selecting the right restoration shade. The ‘Shade Detection’ feature of CEREC software offers you support in selecting the right shade based on your scan. Fast and precise full-arch scans The feature “Guided scanning” helps you to create a digital impression of the entire jaw quickly and precisely with the CEREC Omnicam. The software is designed so that it is easy to learn: The feedback function and detailed instructions let you know what you need to do at all times. This simple handling means that impressions can be easily delegated to your assistant. Digital data allows rapid export to external service providers for aligners or complex laboratory indications. Complete-arch digital scans are becoming popular as digital dentistry is adopted for expanded clinical situations such as complete-arch prostheses, removable prostheses, extensive implant-supported treatment, and orthodontic aligners. Whether the scan pattern technique affects the trueness and precision of complete-arch scans and whether differences in accuracy exist among different scanners remain unclear. Furthermore, each manufacturer recommends a different scan pattern, but evidence of the superiority of the manufacturer’s recommended pattern is lacking. Striking in every detail: The new Acquisition Center The new acquisition Center is a workstation designed for modern dentistry and with the dentist in mind. It comes with a touchpad and a 16:9 wide-format movable touchscreen, offering you a highly intuitive and ergonomic work platform. CEREC AF comprises the individual components of CEREC Omnicam including the camera tray and PC monitor. The camera can be easily taken from one treatment room to another – a big advantage for joint practices and practices with several locations. Scanning and designing can be done separately. For example, you can make the design in the first treatment room and your assistant or colleague can start a new scan in the next one.
